The Powermid Plus kit gives you control of up to seven Audio/Video devices. Signals are sent from the remote in Infra-Red (IR) and Radio-Frequency (RF) simultaneously.

When using the remote from the same room as your device, the IR signal is received directly from the component you wish to control and it will respond.

When operating from another room, the IR signals can not make it through walls to your components, however RF signals travel through walls but these are not compatible directly with your components. The Powermid receiver solves this problem as it can pick up the RF signals from the remote and then convert them signal into IR signals. The Powermid Receiver is placed either in front of your components to beam the IR signal toward them or beside the components and the IR signal fed into the components via the included IR emitter lead.

By adding the X10 RF Transceiver Interface, you can also use the 8-in-1 remote control to activate your lights and appliances from the same remote.
